Rangers score upset over Thousand Oaks

Friday night was a night Nordhoff football fans will not soon forget. The Rangers took on the Thousand Oaks Lancers and came away with a 29-21 victory. NHS jumped out to a 7-0 lead after Tanner Workman connected with Eric Lara on a 16-yard scoring play. The Lancers tied the game at 7-7, but then the Rangers posted another score late in the first half when Tayler Livingston scored on a short run with 11 seconds to play in the half.

In the second half, Thousand Oaks tied the game and then went ahead 21-14. Trailing for the first time all season, the Rangers came right back when Workman connected with Lara for a second time, this time from 69-yards out. Head coach Tony Henney decided to go for two and it paid off when Workman found Austin Wolcott in the end zone to give the Rangers the 22-21 lead.

Nordhoff put the game away late in the fourth quarter when Livingston broke through the line on a third and one play and scampered 59 yards for the score to give the Rangers the 29-21 win.
