Rangers upset in Santa Barbara

The Nordhoff Rangers traveled to Santa Barbara tonight to take on Bishop Diego in a huge Tri-Valley League contest and the two teams did not disappoint in the excitement category. The Rangers got on the board first with a 61-yard touchdown catch by Matt Woodcock. The Cardinals pulled even and the game was tied at 7-7 going into halftime.

Bishop Diego took a 14-7 lead in the third quarter and despite several prime opportunities to tie the score late in the game, NHS was not able to get the ball in the end zone again and the Cardinals upset the Rangers 14-7. With the win, Bishop Diego claims the 2012 Tri-Valley League championship and advance to 9-0 for the first time in the school's history.

The Rangers drop to 8-1 on the season and will need to rebound quickly because they will face Santa Paula at home Friday night. See Wednesday's OVN for more information on tonight's game.
