Rangers Escape, Headed to Semi-Finals

With a spot in the CIF-SS semi-finals on the line, the Nordhoff Rangers went on the road and defeated the Santa Ynez Pirates, 17-16. The game was full of drama and went right down to the final play of the game.

The Pirates got out to an early 3-0 lead before the Rangers came storming back after Jake Logsdon threw touchdown passes to Sean Bettles and Eric White to give the Rangers a 14-3 lead at the half. In the second half, Santa Ynez mounted a great comeback with a fake punt for a touchdown and touchdown pass late in the game but a missed extra point conversion gave NHS the narrow one point victory.

With the win, the Rangers earn a spot in the semi-finals against Lompoc. The game will be played at Nordhoff. For more details on the Rangers big win, see Wednesday's edition of the OVN.

Rangers overcome adversity and advance

The Nordhoff Rangers won their first round play-off game tonight against the Verbum Dei Eagles, 21-0. The NHS defense was the story of the game as they held the Eagles scoreless and were never really in danger of being scored on. Unofficially, Keegan Shirck had three sacks and an interception and Eric White had two sacks.

Isaac Seymour rushed for all three of the Ranger scores on the night. For more details on Nordhoff's big play-off win, see Wednesday's edition of the OVN.
